The Boobalicious Ball, launched in 2004, has become one of Perth’s most anticipated charity events. It’s a night where glamour meets goodwill, raising vital funds for Breast Cancer Care WA. This hard-working charity provides emotional, practical, and financial support to individuals and families navigating a breast cancer diagnosis, relying entirely on the generosity of the Western Australian community.
This year, Luxwerk Photography teamed up with Kelvin Chong from Kelvin Chong Photography and Image Style Studio to document the evening. Hosted at Crown Perth, it was a lively night of performances, socialising, and fundraising. Kelvin was the main photographer, and we were thrilled to back him up, ensuring no detail went unnoticed.
Our evening kicked off at the photo wall, where guests lined up for their moment in front of the camera. It was equal parts elegance and fun, with everyone bringing their own style. Whether it was striking a professional pose or just having a laugh, these moments raised funds for the cause while letting people take home a little memento of the night.
Once inside, the ballroom buzzed with energy. The decor was sleek, the lighting was on point, and the chatter set the perfect backdrop. We moved around to capture the natural flow of the evening, snapping candid shots of guests catching up, sharing a laugh, and soaking in the atmosphere.

Shooting in those dynamic conditions kept us on our toes, but it’s all part of the fun.
Throughout the night, we also covered quieter but equally significant moments: the auction, heartfelt speeches, and guests’ reactions. Kelvin led the charge here, and it was great to support him in capturing the essence of what makes this event so special.
The dance floor really came alive as the night went on. With everyone letting loose, we jumped in to grab shots of the high spirits and unfiltered joy. This is the kind of energy that makes these events so rewarding to photograph.
