End of Year Functions 2025—Corporate Christmas Parties.

December is always the busiest month on the calendar. Corporate Christmas parties, end of year functions, client drinks, staff celebrations. Perth businesses tend to cluster everything into the last three weeks of the year and the diary fills fast.

Here are a few highlights from this past season.

Bobeche in the Perth CBD was one of the more intimate events. A small end of year gathering for the team at Oakwood Consulting, about 15 to 20 guests, a mix of staff and clients, cocktails and beers in a relaxed small bar setting. No speeches, no formalities. Just a group of people wrapping up the year together. These smaller events are some of the more enjoyable shoots. The candid shots come easily when nobody is performing for a crowd.

Long Neck Brewery in East Perth was at the other end of the scale. Brecken Health brought together around 100 guests from multiple locations, a DJ setting up as the sun went down over the river. A proper send-off for a big team. The brewery’s industrial interior handles late afternoon light well and the crowd was in good form from the moment arrivals started.

The East Fremantle Yacht Club rounded out the season with a Trident end of year function. About 30 people, cocktails and canapés, speeches looking out over the water. It was a 40 degree day. The river view made up for it.

Perth has a good spread of venues for corporate Christmas parties and end of year functions. Small bars in the CBD work well for intimate client gatherings. Waterfront venues in Fremantle and around the river suit afternoon and early evening formats. Breweries and larger event spaces handle the big team celebrations where you need room for a DJ and a proper crowd. Each setting needs a slightly different approach from a photography standpoint and getting the lighting right across all of them is most of the job.

The images from these events get used in a lot of different ways. LinkedIn posts the week after the event while everyone is still talking about it. Internal newsletters and company updates. End of year wrap-up content. Some clients use them the following year in recruitment and culture content. A good set of corporate event photos has a longer shelf life than most people expect when they book.
